Description
Croissants seem to be of Austrian origin but mostly associated with France. Croissants are named for its historical crescent shape and are made of a layered yeast-leavened dough.
In the 18th century, the croissant was just an improved bread dough. The buttery flaky croissant as it is eaten today was created around 1920 by Parisian bakers.
