2009-2013

Studies

Elodie from the south of France, graduated from a Bachelor’s degree, in Assistant Manager, then Human Resources and Payroll

2013-2015

Adventure in Australia

Elodie worked in Hospitality and farming while travelling Australia

2014

Training as Crêpier

Elodie undertook a training as Crêpier in 2014, in Rennes, France, after her first year in Australia.

2016

French Crêperie Bistro

Moved to New Zealand: Elodie managed a French Crêperie Bistro for 2 years at Bonjour café, with the best boss ever 

2019

Another move

Travelled Canada in 2018 and immigrated to Cape Breton in 2019.

2021

The creation

January 2021, La Bel-France pantry (former name) was created.

Elodie is autodidact in baking and always wanted her own business. 

2024

Expansion

June 2024 the business renamed La Provence bakery, moved to a nice community, Whycocomagh, NS

We offer traditional French baked goods as well as vegan and gluten free adaptations

 Passionate about putting smiles on people faces with food, expanding the café and want to share it with Cape Breton.

She redecorated the place, as coming from the Provence region she wanted a spot where people can come in and feel like at a south of France terrace

Elodie invented the logo as she wanted something that reminded her of where she grew up, in Provence (the South of France), as per the traditional apron, she actually owns.
